Gainesville Belk to offer Fit for the Cure

What is Fit for the Cure?

Fit For The Cure is a nationwide initiative created by Wacoal in support of Susan G. Komen’s mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever. Belk and Wacoal are partnering to offer complimentary bra fittings from a team of certified fit consultants. For every woman who participates in a free bra fitting, Belk and Wacoal will together donate $4 to Susan G Komen.

How long has FFTC been around?

Fit For The Cure began 16 years ago. During this time, Wacoal has dedicated their efforts to educating over 760,000 women across 411 cities in the US and Canada about the importance of bra fit, foundation and overall breast health.

Belk & Wacoal will together donate a total of $4 to Susan G. Komen® for every woman who participates in a free bra fitting.  Buy a bra or shapewear piece at an event, and the donation increases to $8. Buy more, we’ll donate even MORE!

No purchase is necessary. Belk and Wacoal will together make a $4 donation just based on participation in the complimentary fitting.

Where does the donation go?

Donations benefit Susan G. Komen, the largest nonprofit funder of breast cancer research worldwide.

Optional additional info: Aside from groundbreaking medical research, Komen provides vital support services directly to women and their families dealing with breast cancer including family and personal support in the form of child care, meals, interpretation services, transportation to & from treatment and patient navigation services for those considering treatment options.

How much has been donated to Susan G Komen?

To date, Wacoal has donated over $4.5M to Susan G Komen through the Fit For The Cure events. In 2011, Belk began matching Wacoal’s donation and has donated over $200k through participation in the Fit For The Cure program. Why is it important to have a properly fitted bra?

A properly fitted bra is crucial to your health and well-being. Wearing an incorrect bra size can cause circulation and breathing issues in addition to headaches and neck pain. Wearing a bra should not be even slightly uncomfortable. Women should be professionally fitted for a bra once a year to ensure their bra size has not changed as a result of natural fluctuations in their body.

Research shows that 8 out of 10 women are wearing the wrong sized bra.

A properly fitted bra can make you look your best, and most importantly, improve your health. During our event, we will have certified fit consultants on hand who will work to help you find the right bras. Our customers tell us Wacoal bras are the most comfortable bras in the world!
